The yellow status indicator blinks twice: The GPS unit is connected to the DJEEO server.
The yellow status indicator flashes rapidly and continuously: The GPS unit is shutting down. Turn it off completely by pressing it briefly again.

Charging the GPS units

The GPS units need to be charged immediately before the game is initiated.  Charging may take up to 4 hours. Connect the small power connector (USB) on the side of the GPS unit and plug the Playbox into an outlet. The battery will work for 5 to 6 hours before it needs to be recharged.
Note that the GPS units turn on automatically when the power plug is removed.
If they are not to be used immediately, you can turn off the GPS units manually (see below).

To turn on the GPS units

You can turn on the GPS unit by pressing the On/Off button briefly.

To use the GPS units

Turn on the GPS units and put them outdoors for around 15 minutes before a game is due to start. Within 5 minutes the GPS units usually have contacted the DJEEO server and received signal from the satellite system. The GPS units should be placed so that they "have a clear view of the sky" in order to receive the satellite signals properly. Always use GPS pouches for protecting GPS units when they are out of the box.

To turn off the GPS units

You can turn off the GPS unit by holding the power button for 10 seconds until the yellow status indicator flashes alone and continuously. Release the power button and press it briefly again. Then the GPS unit is turning off. It might take up to 10 seconds before it stops blinking.

Troubleshooting

  • Have the GPS units been charged overnight? The red status indicator flashes if the battery level is below 3850. If it is below 3700 the GPS unit will shut down. You can check the level if you login at http://game.djeeo.net (see GPS HANDLING).
  • Has the GPS unit been inside for more than two minutes? Then it will lose contact with the satellites, and must find them again (It might take up to 5 mins).
  • If nothing works try turning off the GPS unit and restart it.
